EA Sports Ambassador Lionel Messi, the greatest football (soccer) player in the world, wants to see if you’ve got the freestyle football chops to impress him. To help launch its new game FIFA Street, EA joined forces with Dare Vancouver to unleash a social media campaign calling on freestyle/street footballers from around the world to upload a clip of themselves tricking out with a football for a head-to-head style vote against an opponent. Fans vote for the best on Facebook, which will then be whittled down to two videos based on picks made by real-world footballers Steve Mandanda, Jack Wilshere, Bafetimbi Gomis and Xabi Alonso, with the overall winner being chosen by Messi. The above video, which teases the contest, features some real-world street football stars strutting their stuff.
