Drambuie’s new reality

Tech-savvy whisky lovers can trip out.

It’s hard to avoid heritage brand status when your product is 260 years old. But the folks at Drambuie became concerned their product was viewed as “Grandpa’s drink.” With that in mind, they’ve taken some OOH creative to where Grandpa is unlikely to see it – augmented reality adverts in transit shelters around downtown Toronto. People are invited to download the app on their NFC-enabled smartphones and then watch as surreal elements of the poster are brought to life and made interactive. The experience culminates with three drink recipes. We remain big proponents of self-experimentation when it comes to booze, but we also wouldn’t turn down the opportunity to learn how to mix a few cocktails while waiting for the bus.
