The Globe and Mail has taken the Canadian Forces database of operations since 1945 and produced an animated video accompanied by the haunting sounds of a piano. Each region of the world makes up a musical note, so the missions literally make up the song. While its not the most comprehensive presentation of the data, it is a clever way to exhibit the 280 humanitarian aid or military action missions between 1945 and 2007, as the music’s tempo speeds up or slows down.
