Penningtons turns heads

The retailer makes a bold showing in Toronto's Union Station to spread its body positive message.

Transit takeovers are nothing new in advertising but womenswear retailer Penningtons recently put its own stamp on Toronto’s Union Station to spread its body positive messaging.

Last month, the retailer gathered a diverse group of plus-size women to parade through the busy downtown hub holding signs with “#IWontCompromise,” a brand-led movement that’s around body diversity, size acceptance and busting stereotypes like “plus-size people are lazy.”

“It’s not your regular fashion show where you’re showing off the clothes,” one participant expresses in the video below. “We’re actually showing off the bodies.”

Content from the event are now being shared on social to keep the message going beyond the walls of the train station.
