The results are in. Doritos has crowned a $100,000 winner for its Viralocity contest. His name is Jeff Chan and he, along with his partners David Fradkin and Patrick Lo, created the viral video ‘Doritos Tablet’ which, out of 1,100 60-second video submissions, emerged as the most viral of them all. It tallied 672,000 unique total views, over 1,000 shares and re-tweets through the Viralocity website alone, and was ‘favourited’ over 6,000 times.
On top of the cash, Jeff’s name will be featured on the bag and the name of the flavour will forever be known as Spice 2.0. Certainly a coup for three Ryerson grads starting up a new media production company called We Can Pretend. And proving nice guys do finish first, Jeff and the group will be donating $10,000 of their prize money to the Toronto Children’s Hospital.
