Toronto takeover

Art invades city billboards.

If you live in Toronto, you may have noticed some Pattison billboards yesterday that didn’t house ads, but instead featured works of art. The project called Toronto Street Advertising Takeover (TOSAT) was actually political – a protest by New York-based activist group Public Art Campaign targeting alledgedly illegal billboards. (Pattison told Media in Canada that the billboards were installed legally, but had not yet been switched over to comply with a new harmonized OOH bylaw.) Check out more of the art at Torontoist.com
