Going back in time

Tim Hortons' retro birthday bash.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock (or perhaps a strict no-caffeine diet) you know by now that Tim Hortons turns 50 this year. Well, last weekend was the actual date and Tims, OgilvyOne Toronto and Geometry Toronto turned back the clock to commemorate it, taking over Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square with ’60s-like vehicles, fashion and, of course, a replica of the original store in Hamilton and even some of the original store employees. We bet you could almost imagine being back in time, so long as you could ignore the digital billboards. And since no birthday is complete without… donuts, the QSR handed out free ones last Saturday to all who visited the Square, plus its stores across the country.
