Vancouver Opera shines a light on bullying.
The Vancouver Opera is currently running Stickboy, a new work that dives into the effects that bullying has on a young, developing mind. In addition to posters across the city and an art show featuring work inspired by bullying, the Opera partnered with DDB Vancouver to commission street murals from four Vancouver artists that drive to a microsite where people can submit their own bullying stories. The pieces are not just inspired by bullying, but also, as explained in the video below, the “monsters” that victims may feel they have become in order to protect themselves (which is a central theme of the play).
