Stencils for Nepal
Red Cross uses sidewalk cracks to remind us of a quake's destruction.
It’s been over a month since, not one, but two massive earthquakes wrecked havoc in Nepal. And even though it’s not big news now, the Canadian Red Cross is still in need of donations to help their relief efforts, with 1.2 million Nepalese displaced by the disaster. So agency Red (literally) took to the streets in Alberta and B.C. to drum up some support.
With stencils and eco-friendly chalk spray in hand, the agency laid down 45 outlines of the region over pre-existing cracks in the sidewalk to remind people just how destructive the quakes were, and included a link to the Red Cross website to help its efforts.
