A Drinking Arcade Game for creatives
Cleansheet's Denny Kurien built a game that gets ad folks drunk.
At most creative agencies, as soon as the clock strikes 4:30pm on a Friday, out comes the beer cart and down comes the hair. It’s no different at Cleansheet Communications, where digital art director Denny Kurien came up with a game to keep staffers from straying away after too many rounds with the same Cards Against Humanity deck or Jenga blocks. The Drinking Arcade Game or “DAG” is an app that requires its users to have an ample supply of vodka, whiskey, wine, beer, champagne, water (very important) and a straw. Basically, you have to control a smooth-talking and walking stein of beer (who, as you may have guessed, has the nickname DAG) as he makes his way across a bar counter. But if you fail to avoid the pitfalls, bombs, and buzz killers (party poopers who disapprove of you drinking alcohol), you or your entire team must perform a drinking challenge, such as taking a shot of vodka (or a round of champagne for the ballin’ creative agencies out there).
You just read about a “Passion Project,” a weird and wonderful thing keeping creatives busy when they’re not hard at work in the agency world. Have your own side project like the one above? Then email Jen Horn with your passion for the chance to be featured in stimulant and strategy online.
