Is this real life?

A filmmaker created a sci-fi-esque world inundated with so much augmented reality that it's making us dizzy.

If the video below is a true representation of the future, then we’ll never have to worry about being alone with our thoughts (if that was indeed ever a worry).

Shot in Colombia, Hyper-Reality is a film by Keiichi Matsuda. It shows a “provocative and kaleidoscopic new vision of the future, where physical and virtual realities have merged, and the city is saturated in media.” Basically, his future world is predicted to be dripping with scenes and messages that come at us through colourful, floating augmented reality. There’s seriously no reprieve, no escaping the gamification, the quest for loyalty points, the advertisements and the constant support from shop consultants along the way. It’s enough to make a person dizzy, and feel seriously worried about humanity’s attention span. Either we’re going to get really, really good at taking in information, or really, really erratic when it comes to being able to stay focused.
