Views from the gingerbread 6

KitchenAid Canada pays sweet tribute to TO in this window display.

For anyone entering a gingerbread house contest this month, you may want to think about just giving up. Or maybe this will inspire you. It’s a question of temperament, we suppose.

No one is questioning KitchenAid Canada’s attitude, though, at least when it comes to holiday baking. The store’s take on the Christmas window display doubles as a way to show off the fruits – er, gingerbread – of its products’ labour, with some civic pride thrown in for maximum impact.

The display at the Bay-Dundas Canadian Tire features the brand’s appliances mixed in with the cityscape. There’s a snowy, lumbering streetcar. There’s the skating rink at Nathan Phillips Square. And who’s that gingerbread man taking in the Views from the top of the CN Tower? We think you know, dear reader. We think you know.

Zulu Alpha Kilo is the creative agency behind the display, with Cossette Media handling the media buy and Hill + Knowlton Strategies on PR.
