Finally ironic

You’ve probably been told by someone, perhaps with a self-satisfied look on their face, that Alanis Morissette’s 1996 hit “Ironic” doesn’t actually describe anything ironic. (Whatever, it’s still a good tune). But Eliza and Rachael Hurwitz have gone beyond simply sniping at the songs’ lyrics, creating a YouTube version of the Canadian singer’s song that “fixes” the meaning. The resulting clip, where the performers also send up Morissette’s original video by doing strange things in a car, has us laughing. Without irony, of course.
