Is GJP really closing its doors? Yes, according to a press release and accompanying video starring Alan Gee. In it he offers up everything from a ruler to his British accent – always useful when presenting ideas to your client – for purchase at a liquidation fire sale on Nov. 18. The effort also includes an audio recording (housed on YouTube), with wild postings and a social media component in the works. Other items up for grabs include more prestigious awards, advertising annuals, computer equipment, furniture, office supplies, toupées, unproduced creative ideas (in case awards are sold out by the time you get there), presentation outfits and stale cookies. All proceeds from the sale will go to Jake’s House for Children with Autism. We smell a stunt, perhaps to announce a name change? Only time will tell.
