A sophisticated type of graffiti
Forget tags, this artist is leaving tiles in abandoned spaces.
What wall needs a monotone lick of paint, when the floor it stands on could have strikingly colourful geometric tiles painted on it instead?
We’re guessing that’s probably what Javier De Riba likes to think. The Barcelona-based artist has made it his mission to find desolate buildings and spaces where he can leave spray-painted tile designs on the floors. He used to be an art director at agencies and studios in Barcelona, but now he spends most of his time working with the Reskate Arts & Crafts Collective to help “develop graphics and communication projects with a focus on sustainability and humane treatment.”
