The most interesting jobs in the world
Dos Equis is helping Canucks live out their dreams of becoming a Mexican luchador or a Korean soap actor for a whole week.
This Stim writer is deathly afraid of the deep blue sea, but give me the opportunity to dive for treasure for a week in Italy AND get paid to take home what I find, and I’ll sign up for therapy to cure my Thalassophobia (fear of large bodies of water).
This job, and a few others, are on the table for Canadians with a little bit of an adventurous spirit. Dos Equis is offering the opportunity for regular nine-to-fivers to take some time off their regular work week and try out things like Mexican wrestling, treasure diving, Korean soap opera acting, Nova Scotia sailing and late night food reviewing instead.
“Jobs can often be a barrier to pursuing a new passion,” said Jacob Gawrysiak, co-CD at Sandbox Toronto. “Using original content, we’re flipping this thinking on its head and turning interesting job experiences around the globe into life experiences.”
The “Apply Within” contest was developed by Sandbox Toronto, with MEC handling the media buy (which includes classified ads, elevator screens in office towers, as well as a heavy presence on VICE Canada’s website), and it asks people to enter to online for the chance to “relocate to their temporary new job for one week and master a new and unusual craft.”
Unusual indeed. Take a look at the first lucky winner to already take on the role of Mexican Luchador.
