15,000 floating birds on a Parisian wall
Someone has too much time on their hands. This artist created a massive wall mural out of paper origami birds.
When urban artist Mademoiselle Maurice was commissioned to create the largest-ever mural in the city of Paris, of course she decided to make it that much more grande by doing it with probably one of the most difficult materials you can use to create wall art with. Not only did she use 500 litres of paint, but she also incorporated 15,ooo paper birds — Origami birds to be precise. It was all done in collaboration with Mathgoth Galerie, and the ambitious project is called “Lunar Cycles.” The piece measures 49 feet high and 459 feet long, according to Design Taxi, and was installed over three weeks. This hurts our hands just thinking about the amount of folding that went down for this beast of a piece.
