The one-finger portrait session

This artist likes to pose his digits in celebrity and show character garb, among other things.

This guy has this finger on the pulse of, well, finger portraiture (if there is such a thing). The artist is Dito Von Tease (a play on the Italian word for finger, “dito,” and the famous burlesque performer Dita) and he’s been making finger portraits for quite some time now. Of course, his finger is the main model for all of his work, and the images range from celebrities to characters in popular culture and even politicians (they’re also vaguely similar to the finger characters in a recent Edmonton Journal ad campaign, if you recall).

He explained to Taxi Daily in a recent interview the reasons behind his bizarrely intriguing creations, which he occasionally posts to Instagram: “Probably, even in real life we hide ourselves behind an image of us: a mask we create to protect the uniqueness of our finger-print [sic]. This is true especially for celebrities, who live [behind] their masks. Therefore, I disguise my fingers as famous characters taken from the news, historical events, arts, politics, and so on.” OK, we’ll buy that.
