Explore like a local

The Canadian Tourism Commission brings local authenticity to foreign travellers.

The Canadian Tourism Commission has built upon its domestic “Locals Know” campaign with a new tool allowing foreign travellers to check out Canadian trip tips from the people who know the country best: locals. Developed by DDB Canada and Tribal DDB in Vancouver, the “Explore Canada Like a Local” tool extends the authentic, user-generated feel and draw of the “Locals Know” campaign to external markets. It includes a website and mobile app that enhance the Canadian travel experience with insider info on a ton of cool Canadian spots. Travellers can plan their journey, use the tool as a tip guide and share their own travel tips. Nothing like getting the local experience. It’s all about authenticity. Our tip: Lake Ontario might look really nice, but don’t swim in it.
