Abstract shapes in non-abstract environments
There's nothing natural about these images, so naturally we love them.
We’re not sure what it is about natural landscapes mixed with unnatural objects, but we love them. There was the project by Martin Hill, which we wrote about a couple weeks back and which was all about inserting geometric shapes in nature. And now we’ve come across equally engrossing visuals, using a similar tactic of seamlessly blending perfect shapes in stock shots, by Germany’s Oliver K. We almost want to fill an entire wall in our apartment with these manipulated images (and preferably before Urban Outfitters gets a hold of them and we start to see them in everyone’s home).
