Yes, this ad was created by Y&R in the States and the NHL is headquartered in New York. So this spot wasn’t created in Canada and thus is not technically Canadian. But it should have been, so we’re making it a top ad. After all, it’s promoting an NHL hockey event, the Heritage Classic (hockey’s part of Canadian heritage), the event is taking place in Canada (Calgary) and it’s being played by two Canadian teams (the Calgary Flames and the Montreal Canadiens). To top it all off, the event is being sponsored by a Canadian company (Tim Hortons) and airing on CBC. ‘Nuff said.
