Sharpe Blackmore Euro RSCG in Toronto developed this spot for Steam Whistle, pitching an ad idea to the beer brand that it just couldn’t resist – one that’s cheap as chips. Simple, but effective, this spot began airing the week of June 9 on CBC’s The Hour and depicts bottles of the brew being opened at a variety of venues at an increasing pace, sounding suspiciously like, you guessed it, an accelerating steam-powered locomotive. That’s a train ride we could certainly enjoy. There’s just nothing like the sound of a nice cold brain grenade getting its top popped.
