The Peruvian government rewrites soccer history.

Something terrible happened in Peru in September: someone was killed. It happened at a soccer game and was the culmination of a rising tide of soccer violence in the country. The Peruvian government decided it was high time to try to save the “beautiful game” from becoming ugly, so it had the country’s greatest soccer icon, Teofilo “Nene” Cubillas, star in this spot by Y&R Peru. In it, he talks about his greatest goals and why violence occurring as a result of a soccer game makes him wish he wasn’t a part of soccer history.
