New fonts are being created by creative individuals every day. But what would a typeface for the people, by the people, look like? Bic has the answer and you can be a part of it. The pen company and its agency DDB Tribal in Germany are inviting people of varying demographics, from countries all over the world, to co-create the first “Universal Handwriting.” People can contribute their handwriting via smartphone, tablet or desktop (using mobile connect) and draw each letter of the alphabet. With each addition, the font evolves using an algorithm to create a constantly changing, universal typeface. Most people have legible handwriting, but what if a bunch of doctors (notorious for their unreadable script) got a hold of this?
