The return of Blink-182

AT&T and Blink-182 reward copyright infringement.

Pop punk band Blink-182 is back with their first single in eight years. They teamed up with AT&T to help launch the track, creating a contest in which they used Google to track down fans using the band’s music without their permission. The “Blink-182 Film Festival You Didn’t Know You Entered” saw the best resulting videos put together into a three-minute fan montage accompanied by the band’s new song. Two Blink members, Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge, are featured in a second video (below) where they award film festival-esque prizes to some of the more notable vids. So, as it would seem, copyright infringement can sometimes payoff.
