We learned this week in ads promoting Valentine’s Day that sex lubricant and hair care brands are softies (and suckers for surprising twists); a beer brand shows it knows better than to simply hand out samples on the biggest retail day for wine and bubbly; and a flower company misses the mark and screws up its chances on the one holiday it was bred for.
