Furniture brand cum emoticon maker? Yes, it’s sort of true (for those who can’t sniff out the sarcasm in this video), the unlikeliest of things has just happened. Ikea is now an emoticon generator. It’s helping couples all over the world to better express themselves through online communication (and selling a few Malm drawers while they’re at it). The brand in the Netherlands created this comical spot, with the help of agency Lemz, to show how it can help clean clutter in the real and virtual world, with a simple animated gesture (side note: we had no idea “eekeeya” was how you pronounced Ikea. You learn something new everyday).
