Anxiety and other life dilemmas (in sketches)
Gemma Correll understands us more than anyone ever will.
Calling all ye worry warts, jitterbugs and all round killjoys: allow Gemma Correll to make you feel a little less crappy for wallowing in the blues today.
It happens to the best of us. In fact, this Stim writer almost purchased the shirt, cup, cell phone cover and pillow version of the above drawing (that’s how much I could relate with the Monday mood making me want to flatten my body to the ground). Correll is a self-proclaimed “cartoonist, writer, illustrator and all-round small person” who grew up in England, and has showcased work all over the world.
In her anxiety comics, she’s figured out how to talk about things we never really talk about (like the eternal dilemma of “to shave or not to shave” and the emotional baggage most of us carry). Sure, her illustrations are cute, but we have to give her a round of applause for the voice she’s infused in each, which you can flip through here on her blog, or her Facebook and Twitter page, her Flickr, and also, her website.
Prepare to go nuts and lose approximately a third of your day.
