How weird can Scion get?
Meet James Franco and Jaleel White's split personalities.
James Franco is both successful star and accomplished artist. He plays both roles everyday, so why not own two cars to cater to his dual personalities? That’s what’s happening in a new Scion ad, along with other weird stuff in another spot, where Jaleel White and a wax museum model of Steve Urkel (whom White played many moons ago) are featured riding in one of the cars, while cheesy laughter plays in the background. It seems Scion has taken a page from Old Spice and Skittles’ book, betting on weird creative to sell its cars. Weird can be effective at entertaining the viewer, but is this level of weird borderline confusing?
