Bye bye boring Buffalo buildings

The city is disguising its grain elevators with shiny lights.

Let’s face it, Buffalo has gotten a bit of a bad rap over the years. But this “armpit of America” city is getting some much-needed TLC these days with an urban renewal project, led by a Montreal-based design company called Ambiances Design Productions. They’ve transformed the city’s enormous crappy concrete grain silos to become works of art. On each of the buildings, the team has affixed a 360-degree kinetic installation made of lights, wrapping the entire 100-foot silos in a terrific display of lights that speaks to the soul and moves Buffalo’s waterfront from being the armpit to catching the eyes of America.
