Not quite a hoverboard (but close enough)
Burger King brings us a bit of Back to the Future with a "Hovertray."

If you haven’t looked at social media today, it is Oct. 21, 2015, better known to film buffs as the day Marty McFly travels to inĀ Back to the Future Part II. And while some brands are making products from the movie come to life, one joke you’re bound to see dozens of iterations of today is how the hoverboards we were promised have yet to be perfected. Well, here’s something that’s close.
Though there isn’t any explicit reference to the film, between the date flashing on a cash register, the way one of the customers is dressed and the timing of its release, it’s clear where French agency Buzzman is getting its inspiration from in this video for Burger King. It looks like the “Hovertray,” which saves you the hassle of carrying your own food and gives you an option if there’s no seats available, are flying around using drone propellers, but unless the restaurant comes through on its promise of actually making these, this might be another technological marvel fromĀ Back to the Future that stays fictional.
