Honda sits down for storytime

Kids take the new Accord into space and under the sea.

To bring a bit of childhood whimsy to its campaign for the new Accord, Honda and agency RGA took a group of kids and let them sit in the driver’s seat, then asked them to imagine a story that could happen if the car could go anywhere. RGA then recreated the stories with grown-ups playing the parts, but in the style of a (super cute) elementary school play.

In the first video, 4-year-old Ethan tells the story of a pair of dinosaurs that are full of pizza (been there) and take the Accord to Mars (because all the lights help you see everything) to rescue a princess, while in the second, 6-year-old Kingsley takes it under water to outsmart a sharply-dressed shark and find treasure.

We all know (and we’ve seen it in ads before) just how much more active and entertaining the imaginations of children can be than those of adults, but taking what those imaginations come up with and turning them into a fantastical school play that isn’t too concerned about misrepresenting the Accord’s space or undersea travel capabilities certainly adds an extra free, dreamy charm.
