Audi and Airbnb team up in the desert
Soon, anyone will be able to rent the stylish home and car from the joint brand spot.

Companies like Airbnb are all about sharing what you have with others, so they are sharing a prime media buy with Audi to not only show off a seriously stylish ad, but promote a one-of-a-kind experience with both brands.
The “Desolation” spot, created by Venable Bell & Partners in San Francisco, debuted online yesterday and will air in full during the broadcast of the Emmy’s on Sunday. In it, a family at a remote home in the deserts of Nevada run out of coffee, meaning the patriarch has to get behind the wheel of his Audi R8 V10 Coupe (tough life, we know) and race across the desert plains to pick up a new bag of beans from George at the local coffee shop — well, it’s not so much a coffee shop as it is a coffee shack.

The desolate-yet-stylish home featured in the video is not a set; it’s an actual home in Death Valley, Nevada, that has been listed on the home sharing site. After 9 p.m. EST, the site will accept up to seven bookings for the home, which is so far off the beaten path that it has no regular address and can only be found with precise co-ordinates. Each three-day rental will include the services of a professional chef, as well as a driver that will help them get behind the wheel of the Audi R8 V10 Coupe that will be parked outside. No word on if you’ll be given time to visit Leadfoot Coffee, though.
