Student wins the pot

Gambling simulation ups the ante in student competition.

Talk about gambling your life away – instead of a yawn-worthy print campaign, 21-year-old Aaron Curtis McLean constructed this user-controlled, simulated poker game to illustrate the perils of gambling addiction. The competition task was to create a campaign for Atlantic Lottery Corp. for the ICE Awards.

McLean is a former multimedia development and graphic design student of Halifax’s CompuCollege and winner of the 2008 ICE Student Award. His concept earned him a hunk of cash and a month-long paid internship at Halifax ad agency, Revolve.
