To promote its show Boardwalk Empire, HBO is transporting commuters on New York’s 2/3 train back in time, not using a flux capacitor, but with a ride on an authentic ’20s-era subway train. It originally began service back in 1917 and ended its regular run in the ’60s, but has been brought back for this special promo and still has those old-time bells and whistles like ceiling fans, rattan seats and drop sash windows. Of course, the interior is also completely Boardwalk Empire branded.
